
Dr. James M. Lin, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in hand and upper extremity. Born and raised in upstate New York, he completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Dr. Lin then graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo, receiving his MD degree.
At the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, Dr. Lin completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery followed by advanced fellowship training in Plastics Hand Surgery. Minimally invasive endoscopic, arthroscopic and microsurgical techniques are among the unique solutions he is able to provide for a wide variety of orthopedic, hand and upper extremity conditions. His interests include reconstructive joint and arthritis surgeries, fracture care, and treating a variety of common ailments such as carpal tunnel syndrome and shoulder rotator cuff disorders.
Dr. Lin is pleased to provide orthopedic and hand surgery expertise throughout Monterey County, with active privileges at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center and Salinas Surgery Center. He practices at convenient office locations in both Monterey and Salinas. Currently he is involved with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), California Orthopedic Association (COA), and American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH).
Dr. Lin enjoys a variety of outdoor activities and spending time with his wife, young twin boys and newborn son. He is pleased to be a part of this exciting community.
